Steven Leyva is a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned a degree in business management in 1987. He built one of the most successful bakery brands in northern New Jersey with Sugarflake Bakeries, featured in the New York Times and Daily News. The company became a multimillion dollar chain and was sold in 2018.

In 2002 Steven launched Lean on Me Baking, the first healthy gluten free product line in the market. The brand expanded into thousands of stores nationwide and earned Steven a feature on CNBC for innovation and achievement.

In 2013 he cofounded Geefree Foods, the first gluten free pastry dough line in the world. The brand was sold in 2020. He later cofounded Glutenlibre Foods and Dumpling Masters, now sold in major retailers including Walmart Costco and ShopRite.

Beyond business, Steven is a two time state karate champion, east coast champion, and national qualifier. He also pursued songwriting in Nashville, signing a publishing deal on his first day and becoming a member of ASCAP and the Nashville Songwriters Association.

Today Steven is deeply involved in fitness and bodybuilding. His son is a competitive bodybuilder and his daughter is a successful fitness model and influencer.
